Midi to Art-Net converter
The midi to Art-Net converter is a tool which converts from any midi device events to Art-Net. This can be used for remote controlling lighting desks or for running a compete light show from a sequencer software. You can also remote control media server or equal software, which understands Art-Net.

Why this software?
That’s easy! This software makes the configuration really really easy. Start the software and start a new project. It will automatically detect Art-Net outputs in your network (Make sure, that you have an Art-Net IP assigned to your network card). Then add a midi device which is connected to windows/your computer. Now just press "learn". This allows you to add events to the software. Events will added when you are pushing buttons, moving faders or turning encoders on your midi device. This software understands CC and Notes. The DMX channels will be assigned automatically in order. If you delete an event, the free channel will be reassigned when you are adding a new event. Now you are ready to use my software. When you are finished adding events, disable "learn" for performance reasons.
All top menu actions can also accessed thru the context menu (right mouse button or menu-key). By double click on a device or at the project tree node you can also open the specified editor.
Differences between the free and licenced version are:
Free version | Licenced Version | |
Max. Devices | 2 | 65535 |
Max. Events | 14 | 512 |
Support | Forum only | Forum and Email including higher priority |
Currently there is one limitation. If you want to use two or more of the same device and the devices have the same name in device list, then BOMAC is unable to handle the second or following devices.
Get a full licence
You can buy a full licence at the following link. But try before buy, please. The free licence has all features enabled. After you bought you will receive a serial key. This must be entered in the licence manager found in help menu within my software.
TRY BEFORE BUY, PLEASE!
BOMAC can tested and used with all features for free. The only limit is the amount of Buttons/Faders you can map.

If you are looking for downloads, then go to forum "Announcements", please. There you will find the most current versions. Current stable and current test version are sticky at the top there.
Art-Net
When you are having problems with Art-Net, then check following, please:
- Is an Art-Net IP assigned to the used network card (2.x.x.x/255.0.0.0 or 10.x.x.x/255.0.0.0)
- You can also setup the project to send a broadcast - this is done by entering 2.255.255.255 or 10.255.255.255 as IP in project settings.
- If you have no network devices connected to your laptop/pc [for MA-Users: if you are using a wing only (no 2port-/4port-/8port-nodes,nsp etc.)] you may need to install microsoft's loopback adapter to assign an Art-Net IP to that virtual network card. working network is required for Art-Net. You need to use a broadcast IP, when your software doesn't receive the DMX values.
- make sure that no firewall is blocking that network traffic.
Hint
Do you like to start saved project, when you are starting bomac? That is easy. Create a link to the bomac executable. append to the executable the complete file name including path. Of curse the executable and project must be separated by a space. This can also used when you want to autorun bomac at windows start including loading a project.
